The Reedbed of the Misíquias is the village of indigenous origin that gave its name to the Camino Real that occupies to us. At some time of its history, this agricultural village represented the diversification of headings for families of the desert, who looked for less cold earth and next to level earth in the barinesa slope. Nevertheless, the distance or the basic distance of the populated centers and its services (health, education, commerce,…) she affected productive kindness and many families returned to their territories of origin, offering to the Reedbed a seasonal and solitary character. Today, the Reedbed is a native town that, within the National Park Sierra Nevada, hopes to invigorate its economy through communitarian tourism.

1ER DAY: BARINAS - CANAGUA SANTA MARIA During our first day we will enjoy of the landscape corresponding to the Venezuelan level stop. We will lodge in the Mucuposada the Samanes, where the basic slight knowledge will remember to mount horse and they will present/display the experienced leader who will accompany in the passage, having offered us advice, describing the landscape and narrating interesting histories. 2 DO DAY: SANTA MARIA OF CANAGUA - SAN JOSE (600 MS TO 1400 MS) - UNEVENNESS TO SURPASS: + 800 MS - TIME AVERAGE: 05 HOURS We will ascend from Santa Maria de Canaguá, on the foot of the Mountain range of Merida (National Park Sierra Nevada) to San jOse (1400 ms), happening through traditional coffee plantations of shade and crossing Andean cloudy forests. After to appreciate an attractive diversity of birds, we will arrive at the Mucuposada “San jOse”, of pleasant familiar atmosphere, where we will lodge.
3 ER DAY: SAN JOSE - THE REEDBED (1400 MS TO 1500 MS) - UNEVENNESS TO SURPASS: +100 MS - TIME AVERAGE: 05 HOURS We continue the passage, after to enjoy succulent breakfast. We will initiate a way of ascents and slopes in the middle of beautiful mountain forests until arriving at the village the Reedbed, where we will lodge in the Mucuposada of the same name. At the end of the route we will almost bathe in splendid pozas of water that has the river to that height.
4 TO DAY: THE REEDBED - THE MORRITOS (1500 MS TO 3300 MS) - UNEVENNESS TO SURPASS: +1800 MS - TIME AVERAGE: 05 HOURS The adventure within the National Park Sierra Nevada continues very early. The way leads to us by ebullient forests (arborescent ferns, bamboos, secropias,…) and the emotion will be increased when happening through suspension bridges that announce the enter the desert of the Red ones. There, our experienced ones will mount the carps (stores) in the Morritos, where we will pass an pleasant night high woodland.
5 TO DAY: THE MORRITOS - GAVIDIA (3300 MS 3350 MS) - UNEVENNESS TO SURPASS: + 50 MS - TIME AVERAGE: 04 HOURS This section implies an exciting route by the deserts, in the middle of shrubs and frailejones that blooms in October. Before arriving at the Valley of Gavidia we will happen through the highest point of this route: the MICARACHE STOP (3640 Ms). Thence we will contemplate the particular beauty of the Level one of the Wheat in the direction of the Valley of Gavidia. There we will enjoy a rich lunch in the Mucuposada Michicaba soon to cross briefly the village of Gavidia. Dinner and lodging in the Mucuposada “Michicabá”.
