TRIPS TO PERU: CHICLAYO AND THE GENTLEMAN OF SIPÁN
• Altitude: 29 msnm
• Climate: The climate of the region is warm. Temperature annual average of 22°, (maximum of 33° and minim of 17° C). The season of rains begins in the month of February, lasting until the month of April.
• Season of visit: The best time is of December to March.
• Access: Terrestrial route accedes by the route Lima - Chiclayo (770 km) through the North Pan-American Highway, with a duration of 10 hours approx in car. From Trujillo, the duration of the route is of 3 hour and a half approx (210 km). Aerial route, exists daily flights from Lima that last approximately one hour. The tombs of Mr. de Sipán are to 35 km to south-east of the city of Chiclayo (the 40 minutes) and Archaeological Museum Brüning, in the province of Lambayeque, to 12 km (10 minutes) of the same.
• Celebrations: The city celebrates the celebration of the Santísima Cross of Chalpón in the month of February and the 21 of April Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo in Zaña is celebrated.
• Gastronomy: Chiclayo has one of the best northern kitchens, the rice with duck and the dish of marinaded raw fish is unforgettable. Also the ray tortilla is exquisite.
The city of Chiclayo is that one earth in which, according to the legend, the Gods settled down that arrived by the sea, among them Naylamp, that disembarked accompanied of a great retinue. Old civilizations had already recognized the territory like strategic place. Important commercial center of the north of Peru, point of confluence of the towns of the coast, North mountain range and forest, Chiclayo is the capital of the department of Lambayeque, in which, during centuries I and VII d. C. was developed the Mochica culture.
The chiclayano summer invites to go to Pimentel, a modern spa that offers great possibilities for the practice of sport activities like the Hawaiian table and where ancestral techniques of fishing in small called boats can be observed ponies of totora.
Near the town of Sipán, to 35 km of Chiclayo, is the archaeological complex of Cracked Huaca, place where the funeral camera was open pie that shelters Mr. de Sipán; an important regional dignitary, whose rest accompanied by valuable jewels and gold ornaments, can be admired in the Archaeological Museum National Brüning that lodges as well, in their room of gold, one of the most important collections of jewelry of America.

But beyond the spectacular thing of the discovery, and the beauty of their rich adornments, the Real Tombs of Mr. de Sipán have allowed to the archeologists and historians to reconstruct a not known part of the impressive culture moche.
Another archaeological complex is the one of Túcume, also known like the Valley Pyramids and conformed by 26 of them. At the moment, it is possible to be enjoyed the archaeological zones, nature, quack medicine and cultural interchange, thanks to the active participation of the community in the conservation of the natural and cultural patrimony.
