Huehuetenango, “You take care of of the Old women”, is a land of landscapes and discharges mountains of impressive beauty, with the imposing Mountain range of the Cuchumatane to the north. At the top of the Mountain range one is the Viewpoint Juan Dieguez Olaverri and stones of CAP-Tzin.
To about 4 km of the city is the archaeological site of Zaculeu, old strength of the Indians you suck, where King Kaibil Balam, recognized by his bravery, intrenched against the Spaniards to the control of captain Gonzalo de Alvarado, forced who them in 1526 to surrender more by hunger than by the force of arms.
