Masterpiece of Guatemalan engineering, the Relief map, National Historical Monument located in the Race course of the North of the city of Guatemala, has turned one hundred years.
To appreciate the Relief map from any wide-awake angle admiration by the fidelity of the structure of its mountains, rivers and Lagos. The Mountain range of the Mines is a clear example, as well as the mountain range of the Cuchumatanes, the volcanos and hills, and the Lagos of Izabal, Amatitlán and Atitlán. Also, the signaling, that to way of pedagogical explanation, contributes to the easy location of towns, cities and mountains.
The map in principle was designed with pedagogical intentions, but with time it received character of unique masterpiece for being in his sort. It is admired daily by national and foreign visitors who feel a deep respect by this sanctuary of Guatemalan geography.
