One is a located natural reserve to about 30 km to the south-east of Pereira. Associate to the National Park the Snowed ones, the Reserve of Ucumari covers 42 km2s with pertenceciente land to the average river basin of the Otún river. The mission of the park is to conserve the Andean forest within an agricultural zone.
In the Reserve it exists supply of lodging and food. It has ecological paths that cross their interior and that allow to enjoy their ebullient nature and the observation of their wild fauna. The birds are most abundant, with 185 registered different species until the moment.
There are many other options of passages, like the popular way that allows to overcome the Otún River until arriving at the National Park the Snowed ones. Another possibility is to arrive until the Lagoon of the Otún, that supposes a greater effort to be to a height of 3,950 m.s.n.m (6/7 hours of long walk only going).
Zones of culture, fog forest and in the end, desert are crossed. They are possible to be visited, in addition, several cascades like Pretty Rock, the Path and the Forest (5 hours walking).
The easier access road to the Reserve is from Pereira, to the Cedral. From the Shepherd will be necessary here to on foot walk 6 km to Albergue, who does the times, in addition, of Administrative Center.
