The Futaleufú river, that in indigenous language means “Rio Grande”, is located in the North zone of the Chilean Patagonia.
It is a spectacular place for the lovers of the nature and the adventure; the mountains, rivers, Lagos and forests are the ideal scene for long walks, cycling of mountain, fishes, cavalcades and explorations. Nevertheless, and on all these things, the Futaleufú is one of the most beautiful and challenging rivers for those who enjoy rafting.
The water of this river is of an unusual turkish color, high transparency and pleasant temperature. The river flows of this the west from a series of Lagos in Argentina crossing a mountain cord beautiful crowned by eternal snows and glaciers in the Chilean side.
During the month of February, the Futaleufu river brings a volume that varies between 200 and 600 m3/s: this means a river of great volume, ideal for the reduction in raft.
Part from Montt Port, from where we will fly over spectacular mountains and fiords of this beautiful region. We land in Chaiten and we moved in vehicle, by the Austral Highway, until Futaleufú.
