Bolivia has three hydrographic systems: River basin of the North or the Amazon: Of this the west it is constituted, mainly, by the rivers Mother of God, Orthon, Abuná, Beni, Yata, Mamoré and Iténez or Guaporé.
Central or Lacustrine river basin: Formed by the Lagos Titicaca and Poopó, and great the Desaguadero river and salares like the one of Coipasa and the one of Uyuni. River basin of the South or the Silver: Composed mainly by the rivers Paraguay, Pilcomayo and Bermejo.
The Mamoré is a river of tropical type that lowers to its volume between September and October and has a tip of swelling between February to March.
The most important characteristic of the river basin of the Mamoré river and its greater affluent, of the Itenez river, is that a great part is flooded periodically, being considered 100,000 and 150,000 km2s of flooded areas enter the period of swellings.
