The department of Santa Rosa combines wonderful attractive natural, temperate climate and cultural patrimony.
In Santa Rosa we found several centers archaeological of importance, like Old woman Houses, the Cerritos, the Ujuxte and Santa Clara in Chiquimulilla; Ixpaco in New Town Vines; New plowing in Oratorical; the Jobo and Tacuilula in Taxisco or the archaeological center located in the House of the Culture of Cuilapa.
As far as its attractive tourist natural ones we can mention the Lagoon of the Pine, the Lagoon of Ixpaco (national park) and the lagoon of Ayarza. Also it is possible to be enjoyed visiting the river the Slaves, the cataracts the Chorritos and its viewpoint. The protected area of Monterrico, located on the Coast of the Pacific, among others protects species to the marine turtles, iguanas, aquatic birds and the mangrove swamps.
