Trujillo, capital of the eternal spring, is a cosy and colonial city. One of the economic and cultural centers of the north of Peru.
Capital of the Sailor and land of the Peruvian Horse of Step. It was soothes of the Chimú culture (century XII to XV d.C.) and of its capital Chan Chan, the city of greater adobe of pre-Hispanic America.
It was founded on 1534, like one of the main cities of the virreinato. The historical center translates this importance in its buildings. The Cathedral, the monastery the Carmen, the churches and the large houses conform an architectonic set that summarizes the beauty and the harmony of the city.
In the outskirts another architecture can be contemplated: the pre-Hispanic architecture that arises in the middle of the verdure of the fields or sands. The city of Chan Chan, the archaeological complex the Wizard and huacas of the Sun, the Moon and the Dragoon, among others, are samples of the refined northern cultures.
The neighboring beaches offer an exquisite gastronomy composed of seafood and fish just left the sea and possibilities for the nautical sports in contact with the tradition. Huanchaco is a beautiful spa and old town of fishermen, where it is possible to appreciate those old boats that already appeared in the mochicas ceramios and the scenery of Chan Chan. One is the “Ponies of Totora”, rafts made with this American rush that the fishermen maneuver with a unique skill, inherited of generation in generation.
