Villarrica Volcano has conical form, a diameter of 200 meters and is covered by an extensive glacier of 40 kilometers square. It is an active volcano that counts on 59 historical eruptions. In the skirt of this volcano one is located an important center of ski.

The original name of the volcano is Rucapillán, that in mapuche means “House (Ruca) of the Devil (Pillán)”. NATIONAL PARK VILLARRICA
One is 8 km of Pucón.

Surface: 63,000 hectares.

Located in a lateral ramification of the Mountain range of The $andes, the Park is characterized by its volcanos, forests, caves, rivers and lagoons.
Dominating the landscape and determining its relief, Villarrica volcano is its attractive major. With a height of 2,847 msnm, and in spite of having the reputation of being most active of South America, this volcano is the center of the tourist activity of the zone. In its skirts an equipped good exists center of ski and caves of volcanic origin that can be visited. The park has extensive forests of araucarias and lenga, in the high sectors, and raulí, mañío of long leaf and coigüe, in lowest.
